Web Mastering & Multimedia News
What's going on in Web Mastering & Multimedia? January 15, 2010, 9:38 PM Web Mastering is going to be learning Adobe Dreamweaver & Flash CS4 for the next 9 weeks or so. Dreamweaver is software that creates web pages and does the HTML code for the user. Flash is software that can be used to create animations, movies, web pages and images. Both are software used by professional web developers, so this is a great opportunity for students to be able to learn these tools. I am available most mornings, from 7:30-8:00 am to help students. I generally stay on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons for longer tutorials. Multimedia is moving into Flash animations and a bit of video editing, incorporating sound, and other tools we have already learned. Students should have plenty of time in class to do assigned work. Absences or failure to do work in class might result in needing to attend tutorials. See my schedule for tutorials above. Aug. 10: Aug. Notes: Homework is rare in my classes. However, if a student works slower than most students, he or she may need to come to tutorials to finish work. If a student is absent, they should expect to come to tutorials to make up missed work. (A few students manage to make up work without coming in extra.) Some students may need extra help or more time to work when projects are assigned. Tutorials are available for extra help or to have more time to work on projects. Supplies: Pen (in a color I'd enjoy reading-not fuschia, orange, lime, etc.), pencil, highlighter, 1" notebook* with ~20 sheets of paper (or some space in a large binder) A flash drive would also be very helpful to have (needed in spring, so watch for sales). Flash drives come in various storage capacities. 1 GB or even a 512 MB will be fine. *Multimedia can probably survive with a pocket folder with brads, rather than a 1" notebook.
