Web Mastering & Multimedia News
What's going on in Web Mastering & Multimedia? September 28, 2009, 9:06 PM Web Mastering is learning HTML right now. This is like learning a foreign language or math. It builds on previous knowledge, so make up work quickly when absent, in order to avoid getting lost. My Links page has some sites on HTML, if self-help is needed. I am staying on Tues/Thurs afternoons for the week of 9/28, but only Tuesday for the next two weeks after that. I am available most mornings, from 7:30-8:00 am to help students. Multimedia is moving into graphic development and editing in Photoshop. Students should have plenty of time in class to do assigned work. Absences or failure to do work in class might result in needing to attend tutorials. See my schedule for tutorials above. Aug. 10: Aug. Notes: Homework is rare in my classes. However, if a student works slower than most students, he or she may need to come to tutorials to finish work. If a student is absent, they should expect to come to tutorials to make up missed work. (A few students manage to make up work without coming in extra.) Some students may need extra help or more time to work when projects are assigned. Tutorials are available for extra help or to have more time to work on projects. Supplies: Pen (in a color I'd enjoy reading-not fuschia, orange, lime, etc.), pencil, highlighter, 1" notebook* with ~20 sheets of paper (or some space in a large binder) A flash drive would also be very helpful to have (needed in spring, so watch for sales). Flash drives come in various storage capacities. 1 GB or even a 512 MB will be fine. *Multimedia can probably survive with a pocket folder with brads, rather than a 1" notebook.
