About ME

Hi!  My name is Mrs. Michele Stallard and I am the ART 
teacher at LJI. Let me share a few things about 
myself.  I grew up in Franklin, Wisconsin, a small
 community outside of Milwaukee.  I had a dual 
major in college, so I received my Bachelors 
of Science in Education in Special Education 
and a Bachelors of Art in the Arts from 
the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  
I received my Texas Regular Education Certification
nine years ago and my art certification five years ago.
I am looking forward to being your teacher.    

I moved to Texas in 1986 to work for Brazosport 
Independent School District. I taught Special Education 
for a total of eleven years, Regular Education Math 
for four years and helped in Computer Technology 
and this will be my fourth year teaching art.
I was very lucky to be named Teacher of the Year for 
Lanier Middle School and then for the entire district for 
Secondary Education in the 2001-2002 school year! I feel 
blessed to be a part of your child’s education this year!
I met my husband, 
Doug in 1986, and now we have two 
wonderful children.  Ben played football and wrestled in 
high school and
will be a freshman in college at Baylor 
University. He is a Biology 
major.  Katie is a junior at Brazoswood
where she is interested in the arts. swims and plays waterpolo. 
Both of my children sing in various church and youth choirs as well.
